History on Tap (and a Bed Upstairs)

One of the original five Young’s pubs, this grand old spot has stood proudly on East Hill since the 1800s, watching Wandsworth grow, bustle, and brew around it. With its mix of charm, character, and modern flair, it’s the kind of place where you pop in for one and end up staying the night.

Just a short stroll from Wandsworth Town station, we’re perfectly placed for locals and visitors alike. Upstairs, our 16 boutique bedrooms promise comfort and character in equal measure, think Hypnos mattresses, Bramley toiletries, Nespresso machines, and honesty bars stocked with late night treats.

Downstairs, the bar hums from morning to night. Laughter spills through the wood-panelled rooms, plates of British classics make their rounds, and the scent of Sunday roasts drifts through the air. Our menus are seasonal, our ingredients fresh, and our cellar bar (Jones’s Cellar), is the kind of hidden gem you only tell your closest friends about.

Come summer, the garden turns into Wandsworth’s best-kept secret – all sunshine, chatter, and cold pints. From board game nights and pub quizzes to Sip & Paint evenings and Murder Mystery suppers, there’s always something happening.

Because at The Brewer’s Inn, we believe in giving you more than just a seat at the bar.

Take a Walk on the Wandle Side

Morning drifts through the windows, the scent of coffee mingling with the sound of breakfast on the grill. Downstairs, plates arrive steaming and generous, eggs perfectly runny, toast still warm. Whether you linger over another cup or head out early, it’s the kind of start that makes you slow down and savour it.

Step outside and you’re already in the heart of it. A short stroll takes you to Wandsworth Common, perfect for a morning wander with your four-legged friend or a jog if you’re feeling energetic. With our dog-friendly rooms, everyone’s welcome to join the adventure.

For something more off the beaten track, follow the Wandle Trail, a peaceful riverside path winding through hidden gardens, mills, and old industrial corners that tell Wandsworth’s story.

By midday, turn your stroll into a little Young’s heritage trail. Start next door at The Spread Eagle, wander on to The Alma by Wandsworth Town Station, then finish at The Ship, a riverside favourite where the Wandle meets the Thames. A pint in hand, the river drifting by, it’s the perfect way to end the day.

Together, these pubs offer a taste of Wandsworth’s brewing heritage, all just a short wander from our front doors.
